Pottery Hen Do in London | Private Ceramics Class for 8–16 Guests
Celebrate the bride-to-be with a private pottery hen party in Islington. Make vases, mugs or chip & dip bowls — fully customised for groups of 8–16.
A hen do she'll actually keep
Forget the sash-and-straw routine. A private pottery hen do at Meiro Ceramics gives your group a few hours of laughing, getting your hands muddy and making something together — and every guest walks away with a handmade piece to remember the day by.
Our studio in Islington, just one stop from King's Cross, is yours for the session. You bring the bride-to-be and the good vibes; we bring the clay, the glazes, the tools and a friendly ceramicist to guide everyone from first squish to finished piece. No experience needed.
Why a pottery hen party works
It brings everyone together. School friends, work friends and the in-laws all start on the same lump of clay, so the ice breaks itself.
It suits every energy level. Relaxed enough for the mums and aunties, hands-on enough to keep the whole group chatting and laughing.
Everyone takes home a keepsake. A mug, a vase or a bowl lasts a lot longer than a party bag.
It sets you up for the rest of the day. A daytime session slots neatly before dinner, drinks or a night out in central London.
What you can make
Every private hen do is fully customisable — tell us what the bride loves and we'll shape the class around it. These are our most popular choices:
Vase making and painting
Hand-build your own vase, then paint it in your favourite colours. Perfect for a group that wants something beautiful and a little bit arty — and a lovely way to fill the new home with flowers.
Chip and dip bowl making
The ultimate hosting piece. Each guest makes a chip and dip bowl that's ready for future dinner parties — the bride's included.
Mug making
A classic for good reason. Make a one-of-a-kind mug for your morning coffee, or add initials, wedding dates and inside jokes to make it truly personal.
Other ideas from our workshops
Want something different? You can also build your hen do around any of our current workshops, including pottery painting, Chinese calligraphy on porcelain, and our matcha and ceramics experiences.
Celebrating in the festive season? Ask about our new Christmas workshops — ceramic Polaroid frame making and Christmas bauble making.
How your private booking works
Gather your group. Private hen do bookings start from 8 guests, and our studio fits up to 16.
Pick your project. Choose vase making and painting, chip and dip bowls, mugs, or tell us your own idea.
Get creative. Our ceramicist guides the whole group step by step, so total beginners leave with something they're proud of.
We fire and ship your pieces. After the session, everything goes into our kiln. Your finished pieces are fired and shipped within about 3 weeks.
